Phases of the Moon with Oreos

This post contains affiliate links.

Ever since I saw this activity on Pinterest I couldn't wait to do it with the boys. Cookies + science I knew it would be a success.

They enjoyed making all the phases of the moon and at the end they got to eat the cookies.

Arabic Preposition Unit

To help my son learn his Arabic prepositions I put together this fun hands on unit for him. It does not cover all the prepositions only 8 of them. I will continue to add on to this as he learns more. Included in this unit are;

  • Preposition puzzle
  • Spin and Write
  • Preposition Bingo
  • Wall poster
  • flash cards
  • Write the room

He really enjoyed doing all the hands on activities, this unit helped him not only memorize the 8 preposition it also helped him read and write them. I've included this unit as a free download for you to enjoy and use.

This was his favorite activity. I gave him two boxes and a figurine. I read the card to him and he placed the figurine according to the preposition. For example "the boy is under the box," he would place the boy under the box.

Spin and Write Activity:

Preposition Bingo:

I printed mind in black and white but it does come in color.

Art Around the World Morocco

Hi guys, today I wanted to share with you another Art Around the World post. This craft comes to you from Morocco.

Material:
Download your template print and cut out the lanterns. I used an x-acto knife to cut out the windows just so I could get clean lines. You could do the cutting or just have your child cut out the larger pattern and you cut out the windows.

Place your contact paper behind the window and have fun adding the colorful tissue paper. Once your child is all done, put it up your beautiful lanterns.

Tot-School "Guess Who" Zoo Animals

To go with our book theme Good Night Gorilla I put together a "guess who" zoo animal board. I used envelopes and a foam board. Each envelope had a flashcard of a zoo animal and on the front of the envelope I put a picture of the animals pattern.

I attached clips to each of the cards so that it would be easy to pull them out. He loved this activity and would scream every time he pulled out a card and saw the animal. This game can be used with preschoolers/kindergarten, you can try to have them guess what animal is inside based on the pattern on the front.

He lined up all the cards after he took them out and just counted them. I loved making this for him and he enjoyed this activity a lot.

After he was finished with his activity he went over to the shelf and grabbed his book. I love that all these activities are making him love books :).

If you would like to recreat this activity or even just do a match the animal to its pattern activity feel free to grab the free Zoo Animals printable below.
